Mirror, Mirror on the Wall......

So I finally hung up my plastic mirror I got at Goodwill some time ago.  It was a hideous fake gold so I originally painted it white (you know the whole shabby chic thing) but soon got tired of that, so  recently I saw a picture in a magazine (can't remember and now can't find it) of a beautiful kitchen with a gorgeous silver and gold Louis IV mirror hanging above the stove and it gave me an idea.  If I silver leafed my mirror with a tiny bit of gold I could do the same thing!  So Voila!

 I LOVE IT!!

I know, I know, it's going to be a pill to keep clean but I just can't help it.  It looks so good how can I take it down?  Eventually I'll have to when we put in the stove hood but until then.......
I see a step ladder and lots of Windex wipes in my future.

  1. Umm, yeah. Totally awesome.
Thanks for your comment on Sanity Keepers.
My heart went flip flop over that flooring - we are bashing our tile soon to replace with 100 year old reclaimed log cabin wood...
Would love to see more pics - I'll hunt around your blog.
Did you do your kitchen cabs? I only ask cause that is what we do for a living (Faux kitchen cabs) and yours look nice.

  2. I think it looks great, we are getting ready to remodel our kitchen and I was thinking about using a mirror over our sink.

  6. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!! You won't ever regret it! I put an old fireplace mantle mirror right over the kitchen sink as a back splash in my old apartment above my store and people told me it would be a mess - it was a little messy - but I LOVED and was so happy with it (you can probaby see photos of it somewhere on my blog). You did a GREAT job!!

  8. I bet you saw that pic in house beautiful, maybe a year ago, I remember it. They had a huge mirror behind the stove and some sort of antique table as an island, the kitchen looked almost like a living area, very cool
